... But it's an effort none the less!I have been in the kitchen for 3 hours almost non stop!! Tomorrow we are having Frikadellen (basically meatballs with a German name!) and German potato salad. Then we have lemon meringue pie (if it turns out ok - fingers crossed!) and scones, and also some German fruit salad thing, that is berries in sauce - we had some earlier, it was lovely. We had it warm with ice cream :) Everything looks so yummy, I want to eat it all now - it's very tempting.
I had work today, I managed to get their even though there is a strike. Apparently a strike in Germany means the trains still run, they just tell you they aren't running properly. Imagine what the French would say!! I wasn't really at work for long, I was the last to leave. At 3:30. I'm starting to quite enjoy this! I can lie in and get home before 4.30!!! And I still have stuff to occupy myself at work because I have been doing the translation.
We have about 20 people coming tomorrow, so that should be good. At least if I get too nervous, there will be the football on to watch!! I'm very tempted to go and get a bowl of the potato salad!! It's lovely, it has lots in it - gherkins!! I'll take a picture of everything and post it on here on Sunday!

i got really upset this morning - i wonder if there is any way to rectify it?
It looks really good, I've always tried to get my meringues to be even on the top but they always seem to fall apart and crack in the middle. Yours is how it is supposed to look! And don't worry about the colour, only shop-bought meringues are pure white, they probably add loads of whitening agents and EEEs to make them look like that! The taste is what matters and if you serve enough alcohol even the taste won't matter!!!
